The first part of this article looked at the most popular methods of hair removal for women plus the pros and cons of each one. This part of the article will take a look at other methods that are used plus the advantages and disadvantages associated with them.

Permanent Hair Removal Cream: There aren’t as many of these products around as the depilatory and one must be very careful in purchasing them. Many claim to permanently stunt the growth of hair but this is not actually the case. There are a few on the market that have worked in studies but otherwise most of them only work as a depilatory.

The benefits if a high quality hair removal cream is found is that after a number of months of consistent use, the hair stops growing back. It is not a painful process. The results vary with each person and other hair removal techniques like shaving are still required for the first two months or more. The main disadvantage is that the ones that work are hard to find. They are also mostly made with chemicals so individuals with sensitive skin may have a reaction. It should be noted that women with coarse hair may find the solutions do not yield the desired results.

Laser Treatment: This is a quite expensive and tedious method of removing hair. It is better for those with thinner or finer hair but can also work for individuals with coarse hair. The numbers of treatments vary for anyone involved. It is used for permanent hair removal although it doesn’t always work this way.

Laser is great if it works. In some cases the hair really doesn’t grow back. For those with recurring hair growth, there is the option for more treatment. There may be some slight scarring in some cases and it is quite expensive.

Electrolysis: This is another expensive method of permanent hair removal. There are home electrolysis kits that are much more accessible now and priced more reasonably. It does take a lot of time to remove hair in this fashion but in many cases, it is permanent after a few treatments.

Because of its high rate of success, it may be a viable option for those who can afford it and have the time to use it. It makes the skin smooth and free of hair after a few uses. It can cause burning if the device is used incorrectly and in turn, it can result in scarring.
